politics
There is unfortunately too much truth in the old joke: “How do you know when a politician is lying?” “His lips are moving.”

In 1860, this nation had multiple political parties that were formed to give voice to various issues near and dear to peoples’ hearts. The Free Soil party and the Liberty party did not field presidential candidates in that election, but the new Republican party created out of the ashes of the Whig party did. Also fielding presidential candidates in that election were the Northern Democrats, the Southern Democrats and the Constitutional Union party.
This was a vibrant political landscape. Voters had numerous choices. They could vote for individuals and groups who represented them on more than one topic. This was obviously superior to today’s hold-your-nose and vote for the lessor of two evils. It was also more competitive than the Republicans and Democrats would prefer. So they passed laws to “improve the election process”, created overseers of communication mediums to “facilitate a free press” and established government-run schools to insure the uniform education of 98% of the public.
These and other actions of the central government have all but eliminated choice in our lives. In their power sharing agreement, the two dominant parties agree that the current winner can create new programs, but won’t eliminate any created by the previous winner. Growth of government intrusion and government expenditures is assured.
You need to break out of this mold. You need to let go of the notions they planted in your head. You need to think for yourself.
I am running this campaign to highlight the options. Throughout this website, I will be linking to some GREAT sources of information – information that you won’t find in government schools or on FCC-regulated media. It is my hope that thoughtful people will begin to see a bit of what is going on behind the curtain.
